Jill Archibald
As a Ceramic Artist, I enjoy the process of transforming clay into sophisticated elegant forms, or into designing fun and humorous pieces. My interests are varied and include a love of wheel and hand building, making functional as well as one off sculpture pieces.
Experimenting with various affects from different firings gives each ceramic piece a unique and individual look which you cannot always duplicate, and makes it so exciting and challenging.
After 26yrs of potting and attending workshops with various artists from Perth and overseas, I have an Advanced Diploma of Studio Ceramics . I have attained skills in Technology, Glazing, Design and Soda Firings, and a multitude of other skills.
My ideas from my work come from architecture, family interaction, expressions from people around me and the environment I live in.
As a member of the Canning Art Group, Clayfeet Exhibiting Group and the Ceramic Arts Association, I have exhibited in many states of Australia.
I also teach pottery and hold workshops at the Canning Art Centre.
