Natalie Harrop
I am a potter from the early 1970's, almost self taught as lots of the potters in New Zealand were in those days. A very good living could be made with sales from pottery, but I soon realised that pottery for the year 2000 onwards, needed to be bright and colourful to compete with the imported coloured ceramics
Since my husband (who also is a potter) and I have been in W.A. (almost 4 years now), I have been on a huge learning curve with regard to the types of clay that didn't behave in a similar manner to the N.Z. volcanic content clay that I was used to, and also the experimental phase with new glazes given from my colleagues and friends.
