I am exploring notions of my spiritual and emotional response to the Australian Landscape--specifically a Western Australian Landscape. The work is made using WA clays and the woods used during the firing come from my property at York in the wheatbelt. As the Australian landscape is clothed with vegetation that has been altered through millenia of indigenous burning of country so my work is clothed with the remnants of that vegetation (the melted and fused ash ).
