Fergus Stewart is an internationally known ceramicist and producer of unique hand-thrown functional and decorative pieces, for use in the kitchen and on the table. He lives in the remote Scottish Highlands and is back here visiting Perth where in 1981 he and Greg Crowe designed and built a wood-fired salt kiln.
Greg, as many of you know, established Hovea Pottery here in Perth in 1980 and is also an internationally acclaimed potter, specialising in throwing, the use of local materials, clay etc, ash glazes. All his work is high fired stoneware, either wood fired, salt glazed or fired in a gas kiln.
Together Greg and Fergus will demonstrate the work they make over the 2 days. They will be demonstrating simultaneously. There will be dialogue and discussion about making pots and their relative approaches to pots, clay and firing.
Cost: $200/pp for both days.
Cost $125/pp for either day.
